Being that we have a wee bit o’ the Irish running through our veins, we like to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
Wear your green! Em didn’t want to wear a green shirt, she thought pink with green accents was a better choice.
Growing up, my dad always made Good n True Irish Stew and soda bread for St. Patty’s Day, so that’s what I like to make.
This year I decided to make a dessert, I just did a google search for Irish desserts. My sister suggested an apple cake as most of desserts contain alcohol. but not the apple cake. The apple cake was super yummy.
And now some Irish blessings and saying:
May you never forget what is worth remembering,
Or remember what is best forgotten.
May you get all your wishes but one,
So you always have something to strive for.
Health, and long life to you
Land without rent to you
The partner of your heart to you
and when you die, may your bones rest in Ireland!
May your neighbors respect you,
Troubles neglect you,
The angels protect you,
And Heaven accept you.
|An Irish Prayer|
|May God give you…
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.
