Foto Story Friday #154– a bird, a storm, Mother’s Day and a flower

Recently we had an interesting visitor to the area:

White Headed Robin

This cool  robin has partial albinoism.

April 30th a spring blizzard swept through the area.  Closing the freeway.

line up

Trucks were brought to a standstill and lined many roads and filled many parking lots.

trucks

full parking lots

It was nearly impossible to capture all the trucks parked around town.  I wish I could have gotten an aerial view, but the wind was blowing very hard and well I don’t have a plane! 🙂

The estimate was about 500 stranded travelers!

sign stand

Two days later we took a short road trip to see the snow…. after melting this is what we found.  Loved how they placed the sign right on top of the snow pile!

so much snow

I couldn’t believe how much snow was still on the ground 2 days after the blizzard….. but we did hear that it dropped 5-6 feet in a matter of hours!  Crazy!

The side of the freeway

Guess this does explain the road closures!

for you

Em planted this in school for Mother’s Day.

Happy Mother"s Day

Who doesn’t Mother’s Days projects?

Bleeding Hearts

The neighbor’s beautiful blooms.

It always amazes me that the weather can be SO different in different parts of this country of ours! I love how you captured so much beauty in so many other-wise ordinary things! Happy Friday!

    • Thanks! It is amazing how diverse the weather can be! I really would like some days of around 70 and not still in the 40s and 50s…. oh and the sun would be nice rather than this rain! 🙂
