Last Saturday the whole family joined a big group of people from Troy work and went on a trail ride with the 4-wheelers and a couple of dirt bikes. There were 18 of us: 10 4-wheelers, 2 dirt bikes and a side-by-side.
We had not been on this trail before, but a few of the others had been. We met up at a cafe’ and followed them out of Terry, MT about 2 miles, turned down a dirt road and saw…
This cool bridge! I was so excited when I realized that we were going to soon be crossing over it. Shantel was less than thrilled with that plan as she was driving!
The trailer barely fits!
ohh exciting! There was a lot of nasty sticky slimy mud, so we switched drivers and I navigated the tricky area. We off loaded the machines, outfitted the little kids with helmets, strapped on the coolers and headed out.
We stopped to gather all the stragglers up and give the boys on the bikes a little rest. There were some big mud holes and places to go around that caused some slipping and sliding and a few falls.
The next place we stopped was called the mushroom garden…. cause of the funny shapes of these rock formations… they do look like mushrooms.
It was hard to get everyone and everything in the photo!
Is this rock not cool?
The sights along the trail. Just a little past this was the end of the trail. It was about a 12-13 mile ride in. Then we took to a foot path.
Where we found these cool natural bridges.
Then we hiked back to the machines and had lunch.
There was a huge field of cattails the boys picked some.
We packed it all up and headed back to the trucks.
There were some poor prairie dogs that met their end that day….. boys will be boys! 🙂
We made it back to the trucks got them loaded and headed for home!
At the end of of good day on the trail.
